Gold Roger had everything he ever wanted in the world—fame, fortune, power, glory—until his execution in hometown of
Loguetown. There, he proclaimed that if anyone could find his treasure (which later would be called One Piece), it was his to keep. The legend goes that he smiled when he accepted his death on the execution stand. -- spoiler from vol.17 -- Though he is known as Gold Roger now, approximately a century ago his full name was Gol D. Roger; this shows that Luffy's middle initial may prove to be the key point in the series. |
