MTS: the Michigan Terminal System

MTS, born at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, was the operating system of the mainframe at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where I spent many of my formative years. At the height of its popularity, it was installed on more than a dozen computers worldwide! Experience with it was obviously a truly marketable skill. RPI finally discontinued its use in the summer of 1995. I had hoped to link to substantial MTS information at RPI or U Mich, but, from my perusal of their web pages, they don't seem to own up to it anymore.
