Mainland China Trip, 1996

This summer I took a trip to mainland China with my martial arts school, where I study ShaoLin kung fu. It was not my first time abroad, or even my first time in Asia, but it proved to be very enlightening regardless. I wrote in a small notebook my impressions as we went along -- it grew to be a bit larger than I had expected, but I hope that it proves at least slightly interesting. A clue as to how my mind works, more than how China really is, I imagine.

Since there is a lot of text and some people have complained that it was too large to open all at once, I've broken it down to calendar days.
