"engaged" items are drops from rare spawns that are included in the hunting loop.
note that rare spawns that are not included in the hunting loop do not drop "engaged" items.

three bungas in the [phon coast hunter's camp] seek "engaged" items once you reach [barfonheim].
the bungas in return will sell you items based on the number of "engaged" items you give them.

after you hand over 30 items to the bungas, the boss bunga will give you items as rewards.

if you gave all 30 to the attack bunga: great axe
if you gave all 30 to the defense bunga: regen morion
if you gave all 30 to the uncaring bunga: sage ring
if you gave 10 to each bunga: marconide, chaperone hat, coral ring



if you got hold of a black feather in [archadis], you can receive two zodiac loots for every 5 engage items collected.
note that over here, you don't have to turn them in - you just have to have acquired the engage items.
